Information Stored on Your Device

Skillmark stores your practice information locally on your device. This may include:

• Skills you create or edit
• Practice plans and reminders
• Timer settings
• Practice history and progress information
• Rank, level, and achievement information
• App preferences, including theme, audio, accessibility, notification, and backup settings
• A locally cached record of premium-feature entitlement, when applicable

This information is used to provide Skillmark’s features.

Skillmark does not require an account and does not operate its own cloud server for your practice data.

Backups, Exports, and Restores

If you use Skillmark’s backup, export, or restore features, you control the files you create, save, import, or share.

Skillmark does not automatically upload these files or your practice information to a Skillmark-operated server.

Exported backup files may no longer be protected by Skillmark after they are saved outside the app. You are responsible for selecting an appropriate storage location and deciding whether to share those files with another person or service.

Notifications, Reminders, and Timers

Skillmark may request notification, alarm, live-activity, foreground-service, or related platform permissions so reminders and active timers can operate at the appropriate times, including when the app is not actively displayed.

These permissions are used for app functionality, such as:

• Scheduling and displaying practice reminders
• Showing active timer information
• Providing timer-completion alerts
• Restoring scheduled reminders after a device restart, where supported

Reminder schedules and timer information are stored locally on the device.

Advertising

The free Android version of Skillmark may display banner advertisements using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Purchasing Skillmark Plus removes these advertisements.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as:

• IP address
• Approximate location derived from an IP address
• Interactions with the app and advertisements
• Diagnostic and performance information
• Advertising identifiers
• App set identifiers and other device identifiers

Depending on your device settings, consent choices, location, and Google’s policies, this information may be used for advertising, analytics, ad measurement, security, and fraud prevention.

Where required, Skillmark uses Google’s consent tools to request advertising choices before advertisements are initialized. You may be able to review or change applicable choices through the Privacy choices control in Skillmark’s settings.

Skillmark does not sell your practice data or use it to select advertisements.

Skillmark Plus and Purchases

On supported platforms, Skillmark may offer an optional one-time purchase called Skillmark Plus. Skillmark Plus removes advertising where advertising is present and may unlock additional premium features.

The applicable app store processes the transaction. Skillmark does not receive or store your payment card number, bank account information, or other payment credentials.

The app may receive limited purchase information from the store, such as the purchased product identifier, purchase status, and purchase token or transaction identifier. This information is used to:

• Confirm that a purchase was completed
• Activate Skillmark Plus features
• Maintain a locally cached entitlement
• Restore a previous purchase
• Detect when an entitlement is no longer valid

Skillmark does not send this purchase information to a Skillmark-operated server. The applicable app store processes and retains transaction information according to its terms and privacy policies.

Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

Depending on the platform and enabled features, Skillmark may exchange limited information with third-party services used to provide app functionality, including:

• Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK, for Android advertising, analytics, measurement, security, and fraud prevention
• Google’s User Messaging Platform, for managing applicable Android advertising consent choices
• Google Play Billing or Apple’s App Store services, for processing applicable purchases and confirming entitlement

These services process information according to their own privacy policies, terms, and applicable platform requirements.

Skillmark does not share your locally stored skills, practice plans, reminders, practice history, or backup contents with these services for advertising purposes.

Developer Website

The Skillmark developer website and this policy are hosted using Firebase Hosting. As with most hosted websites, the hosting provider may process technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, and timestamps to deliver, secure, and operate the site.

The Skillmark developer website does not require an account and does not use this request information to build a Skillmark practice profile.

Security

Skillmark relies on the operating system’s application storage protections to help protect information stored locally on your device.

Communications between Skillmark and applicable third-party services use secure network connections. However, no device, storage method, or electronic transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Exported backup files are controlled by you and may not remain protected by Skillmark after they are saved or shared outside the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your locally stored Skillmark data remains on your device until you:

• Delete individual information within the app
• Use Skillmark’s Reset all data control
• Clear Skillmark’s storage through device settings
• Delete exported backup files from their saved locations
• Uninstall the app

A locally cached premium entitlement may be removed when you clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. The applicable app store may retain purchase history so an entitlement can be restored.

Information processed by advertising, billing, app-store, or other third-party services is retained according to those services’ applicable retention policies.

Because Skillmark does not require an account or store your practice data on a Skillmark-operated server, there is no separate Skillmark account-deletion process.

Children

Skillmark is not directed to children under 13. It is intended for teens and adults who want to plan and track their practice.

Skillmark does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

If Skillmark’s intended audience or advertising configuration changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated as required.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Skillmark may add or change features over time, including purchases, cloud services, account features, advertising options, or additional personalization.

If a change affects how information is accessed, collected, used, stored, retained, or shared, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe that change.

Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
